Getting Started

How do I get started? 
To get started, simply click on "create your site now" on our main page to create your Web site.  

Do I need to download any software to use this site? 
No.  At Mad Spider, we realize the value of your time.  We have designed the site so you don't need any extra software or technical know-how to start creating your Web site. 

Do I really get a domain name for free?

Yes.  You have the opportunity to register a new domain name (i.e. mysite.com) with all new account activations.

What if I already have a domain name?

If you already have a domain name, we can assist you in transferring the domain name. This may take up to seventy-two hours to complete.  We will assign you a domain name temporarily, so that you can work on creating your Web site.  Please contact us at support@madspider.com for assistance.

Am I required to get a domain name (i.e. mysite.com)? 
No.  As part of the Web site creation process, you will be provided with a Web address that is a sub address of the main Mad Spider Web site.  For example, if your business was Café on the Corner, your address might look like http://cafeonthecorner.madspider.com/. 

How long does it take to create a Web site? 
Creating your Web site should only take 15-20 minutes. However, it may take longer to create a site in which you would like the general public to view.  Making a decision on which templates you would like to use, color scheme, text, and images that you would like on your Web site depends completely on each individual.  If you are certain of what you would like and where things should go on the site, you will get the site you would like to present to the public much quicker.  We encourage all of our customers to take as much time as they need to create a site they feel comfortable in presenting to the world at large.  It is not about speed, but about the professional quality and presentation of your site.  

What if I'm not ready for people to see the content I am adding to my site?
Mad Spider realizes that you want your site to look as professional as possible.  The Site Administrator gives you the ability to hide pages of content that you are working on until you are ready for them to be seen.  You can simply click a button when you are ready for the content of a specific page to be seen.  The only page that needs to be seen from the beginning is your Home page.   

What are the system requirements?
You can use Mad Spider with a personal computer, a connection to the Internet, and any modern web browser such as Internet Explorer or Netscape Navigator.  Some of the advanced functionality available in the text editor requires Internet Explorer version 5 or higher on the Microsoft Windows platform.

If I currently have a Web site, can I transfer it to Mad Spider?
You can transfer your web site address (domain name) to Mad Spider during the site creation process.  You will then need to use the Mad Spider Site Administrator to recreate your site.
